Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg...Gateway to the Smokies-Gateway to Family Fun

Pigeon Forge Mountains

Welcome to my little website...

I hope it helps you on your Journey

Thinking of coming to Pigeon Forge or maybe Gatlinburg and just want to find out more about it?

Maybe the thought of exploring Tennessee has been on your mind.

Perhaps you've been to this neck of the woods a couple times before and you're just looking for some specific info. (I'll try to help if I can.)

Let me introduce my self. My name is Barry Meadows. I'm a native of the Great Smoky Mountains. Born and raised in Asheville, N.C., I have lived and worked right here in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for the last 18 years.

Not to long ago I came up with this little notion of building a website that would be really informative and helpful for anyone wishing to come to this area, whether it be for the first time, or perhaps even those planning a return trip.

I knew this was something that a lot of people were asking for and something I thought I could do a really good job at.

I knew it because helping visitors is something I do all the time! I just needed to translate this service into something that people like yourself could take advantage of on the web.

I have been to many of the large Travel-sites about Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg (some are very good) and some of the more local ones, and could tell right away that I had my work cut out for me. I was going to have to come up with a way to convey information and offer it up in a way that the Big Dogs didn't have. Which is with a personal touch.

My little family is my Life

So I determined that all I needed to do is just stick to what I have been doing for all these years. Which is to communicate with people on a personal, one to one basis. Down to earth. Upfront. No Bull. Staying Honest and telling it like I see it without bias. The rest will take care of itself.

So with that thought in mind, and just barley enough money in hand to build this site, I launched out and started my journey at building a Pigeon Forge-Gatlinburg Travel site that I honestly think will help you out and perhaps even bring a smile to your face as you explore around.

So far it has been a wonderful journey!

Now building this website will not happen over night mind you, because there is SO MUCH to do here that to even begin to cover it all will be quite an adventure.

That's why I recommend book marking my homepage for now and just keep checking back. Even better yet, sign up to my Blog and my Git2know NEWSLETTER to really stay on top of things.

My goal is to make this site a place where you can feel at home and find the information you are looking for about this region. Whatever it may be. Vacation info, Attractions, Motels, Cabin Rentals, Shopping, Wedding info, places to eat and other things of interest to you and your family.

If you have something to share about one of your trips here to the Smokies, or a question, please share it with me and other visitors. We can all help each other out.

Yeah, all this is ambitious I know! But:

Mountain

You see the building to the right in the photo above? With the red roof and red window shades? That's Mountain Cove Gift Shop. I've worked there for the last 15 years Airbrushing T-Shirts. I worked at a different place in town for 3 years also.

Hopfully you've found the right place. Over time I'm going to really try and build this website up and make it a place where you can not only git2know Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, but comfortably git2know the whole Great Smoky Mountain region. It will take me some time so like I said, please keep checking back.

Where do I start?!

There is so much to do and explore around Pigeon Forge-Gatlinburg that I'm afraid this will take quite a while to do justice, so be sure to keep checking back. I'll have to take a little bit at a time and build a website you will enjoy coming back to.

Some of the things I'd like to flap my lips about to start with and maybe even try and help you with are:

Most Popular attractions

I'll put extra focus on the ones my wife and son love to go to like, Dollywood and Dolly's Splash Country, the Aquarium in Gatlinburg, the Malls in Pigeon Forge, Ripley's Belive It or Not Museum, and a whole lot more like "Zorbing".

Don't forget the Independence Day celebration held each year at the Patriot Park, you can learn more here: 4th of July.

Hotel/Motels/Cabins

From the the cheap to high $$. I'll try to cover some of the best of breed. Since Cabin Rentals are so popular here, I'll eventually add a complete section on them. I mean ya'all gotta stay somewhere right? My boss lady owns a few so I'm sure she will want me to mention her's as well.

Best Places to eat

These I know by heart. HeHe..From buffets to Country viddles. I'll try to hook you up. From Steak houses to usual run "o" the mill. I'll also get around to some of the lesser known ones that go undiscovered. Like Parton's Deli. One of My favorites

Off the Beaten Path

This will be one my favorites! Listen, I know dozens of little places that most people never discover in Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and Gatlinburg. Like Parton's Deli for example. This little deli makes the best hot dogs in Gatlinburg! I'll give you the inside scoop on how to locate these lesser known places.

If you want to contact me please use the e-mail form at the bottom of my "git2knowme" page.
