HIGHWAY 66
Don't forget to explore Highway 66!
I'd say about 99.98% of folks coming into this area come via the I-40 intersate and take exit 407 onto Highway 66 into Sevierville. I guess there might be a view big shots that come into the area by landing at our little Sevierville airport in their private jets but not many. (Sorry Dolly Parton, but yeah, you're a bigshot!) Most people taking the exit are so excited to just finally get here and are so in awe at the beautiful scenic Smoky Mountains that majestically loom in the distance, they don't notice that there is a heck of a lot to do on this highway that leads into town. Some of it I have already covered, like Smoky Mountain Knife Works and Reel Movie Theatres. I just thought this would be the time to tell you of a few more things that you may want to check into that you may not know about. For example, most people exit and enter I-40 but never even notice the Baseball Stadium! Sevier County is home to the Tennessee Smokies.
The Tennessee Smokies used to be affiliated with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Recently however they signed a "player development" contract with the Chicago Cubs. Which means if you are a baseball fan and visting the area during the season, guess what? You can have a blast here at the stadium watching top notch players!
If you are a baseball fan or just think this would be great family fun while you are here, just go check it out! Here is the link for more info. Play Ball!
Do you like Antique Malls and stores?
Then check out Action Antique Mall while you are out on the highway.
Another great reason to visit Highway 66 is the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce
As usual---There is always more content to come folks!
