Git2knowme (and mine)

I'd like you to Git2knowme and mine but...

Relax, this ain't gonna be no autobiography. Just a friendly git2know.

Well folks, Love is an awesome thing ehh? There are no words....

My goal is to add a more personal touch to gittin' around here in Pigeon Forge-Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountain area. I hope as you explore this site I will have added at least one smile to your day. If so, then I feel I am off to a good start!

There is so much for your family to discover, explore and have fun with here in the east Tennessee area that no one man can cover it all. But I'm gonna give it a try over time!

We live down the road from Pigeon Forge in Sevierville.(photos above)In these pics you see the Sevierville First Baptist Church as well as the Sevier County courthouse contrasted against the beautiful Smoky Mountains. Sevierville is actually the first city you come into as you exit from I-40 and start following the signs on Highway 66 into the area.

Oh, and Sevierville is famous for being the birthplace of countrymusic legend Dolly Parton. There is even a statue of her in front of the courthouse. You can see the picture of it when you scroll down on my Sevierville page.

I've decided I want this website to be a little more personable and down-to-earth. Not the "In Your Face!" kind of hospitality, mind you, or the fake..."Let me Sell you a car" friendly, but the layed-back, take your shoes off and stay awhile, down-home friendly. Sometimes humorous, sometimes a little stupid sounding I guess. But hey, that's the kind of person I am after all, and it would be silly and dumb to try and fake it.

At the same time though I want it to be full of real value in its content so that YOU the visitor will find what you are looking for and have a good reason to keep coming back.

Look, I'm not going to pretend to be a professional writer, so my apologies up front if some things sound a little corny or hoky..lol..I do sincerely believe I can help inform you about this area though, and maybe help you find what you are looking for.

Way back then it wasn't much more than a single road with a few shops up and down each side. Now it has become one of the most popular vacation destinations of the south-east.

You see, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg TN. are just a short little hop and skip from Asheville N.C. (where I'm originally from), down I-40 up-over and through the beautiful Blueridge and Great Smoky Mountain Parkway into East-Tennessee. Little did I know then that I would end up living and working here.

Asheville N.C. is another Mountain Jewel that I could make an entire website about(maybe I will someday). It's just another great enchanted Smoky Mountain area you and your family could trek out from here and go see, but we can get into that at a differant time and place since my main focus on this site is the Pigeon Forge-Gatlinburg area.

I ended up moving here over 15 years ago to Airbrush T-shirts for people visting the area.

This profession has put me face to face with thousands of people visting the area, Sometimes I joke with my friends that I often feel more like an information booth! That's no problem though. I enjoy it. So it is a natual extention of my everyday job to build this website out as a service to people thinking about visiting the area, or to anyone wanting to git2know more about it.

I've lived and worked here in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area for over 15 years serving tourists, so I know the area very well. I hope I can help you in some way, or at least direct you to where you can find that help.

Many people fall in love with the area and end up moving here. The gorgeous Smoky Mountains, the many things to do, the beautiful Smoky Mountain National Park, the moderate climate, all add up good reasons to hang around for awhile. Here's a pic of the beautiful countryside not far from where I live.

Overall I can't imagine living anywhere else. We love our life here and think it is a great, fun and exciting place to live, work and raise a family. We feel blessed to be here and think you and your family would love making a vist, and in the process take back home a lifetime of wonderful memories.

The Git2know Newsletter will simply be an easy to read, quick to the point update and/or "scoop" on the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg area. I will send it out anytime there is something "news" worthy. Sometimes It will inform you of new stuff I add to my website. Other times it will just remind you of things that I have already covered but that you may have forgotten or missed.

When I find a Tid-Bit that I think you would want to be informed about, I'll flap my lips a little bit about it and give you the scoop.
