4th July Pigeon Forge

Every year on the 4th of July in Pigeon Forge, there is quite a shindig at the Patriot Park in Pigeon Forge.
Large crowds gather in the hot and humid weather and enjoy a music concert followed up by a large Fireworks display.
All around Patriot Park during the event, there are various things to do. During the 2007 4th of July celebration, Tennessee State Bank sponsored a "Kids Karnival" which featured a giant slide, toddler sandboxes, a velcro wall and a number of other games for children.
There was a Rock climbing wall set up and ran by the ARMY, and plenty of concession stands with food and drink.
Over the years many artist have performed at the event. Charlie Daniels,Billy Ray Cyrus, Oak Ridge Boys, too name just few. The 2007 event had the following artist:
Bowling for Soup,Kimberly Locke,Constantine Maroulis,Quietdrive, and American Idol contestant Tiffany Affair.

The live music ends around 9:30PM. Then it is time for FIREWORKS!

The best place to observe the fireworks display is out on the strip in Pigeon Forge. If you are at the concert in the park, you can easily still see them, but the best view is out on the parkway between Lights #7 and #8.
Actually, it's kinda hard to take pictures of Fireworks. My wife Sarah took these photo's and done a fine job though. She says: "Sorry about the Phone lines in the pictures. I couldn't get to good spot before they started." Hope you enjoy them.

The display lasted exactly 15 minutes. Afterwards traffic was terrible. So when you come, just relax for awhile after the fireworks and let the traffic die down before trying to make it back to your Hotel or Cabin.
You can find Patriot Park by turning onto Old Mill Avenue at stoplight #7 in Pigeon Forge. Go across the little bridge and to the Trolly Station on your right. You're there.
SEE YA THERE NEXT YEAR!
